Social Media, and so on
FLASH: "unboxing" video for Three Men in Orbit now online!
If there were more hours in the day, I would write a blog, and update it regularly, and it would be found round about here on my website.
Until some mad scientist invents a device to lengthen the day (now there's a story idea...), if you want to read my most up-to-date thoughts, your best bet is to follow me on social media.
Once upon a time, I had a Twitter account. I didn't use it much because I didn't like the Twitter format and restrictions and general atmosphere. Then you-know-who got hold of it and changed its name to X and that was enough for me to pack my bags and vamoose.
I took refuge, with a good many other authors, on Mastodon. I shall restrain myself from printing a long, gushing list of reasons why it's better than Twitter/X ever was, and simply say: this is the venue where I post my writing-related thoughts on an almost daily basis. Here is my Mastodon page.
Authors are sternly warned by most "experts" that you Simply Cannot Do Without a Twitter/X and Facebook presence. As stated above, I did away with Twitter, and suffered no pangs -- and more importantly, no obvious loss of trade. Meantime, Facebook is less toxic than Twitter, just as chickenpox is less toxic than smallpox, and while that state of affairs prevails (and while a great many friends still hang out there), I stick around on Facebook, and semi-regularly, I update my Facebook author page.
